Ashok has been a regular columnist and writer for Mint, and now the Hindustan Times. In his columns, Ashok writes about issues pertaining to public health delivery at scale, drawing from his personal experiences from the field.
An author, Ashok published his first book "A Stranger Truth: Lessons in Love, Leadership and Courage from India's Sex Workers (Juggernaut)” in November 2018.
The book has received wide appreciation and coverage with over 30 publications, interviews and reviews from known media houses, both national and international. Bill Gates, in advance comments on the book called it “[A] powerful story of hope that deserves to be widely read”, while Amitav Ghosh commented that this was “A portrait of contemporary India like no other…An unusually gifted writer”.
